This website supports the research project ‘Metrology for monitoring infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and harmful micro-oganisms’, known as ‘Infect-Met’. The project is run in collaboration with European National Measurement Institutes, industry and academia and is funded by the European Metrology Research Programme.

Molecular approaches, such as qPCR and sequence analysis, offer the potential to improve management of infectious diseases. However, full confidence in molecular measurements can only be achieved if the appropriate metrology framework, standards and higher order reference measurement procedures are developed.

Infect-Met aims to establish routes for improving the accuracy, robustness, comparability and traceability of measurements within the metrology and diagnostics or epidemiological communities.
